Oct 06, 2002 · The Fuji 6x7 and 6x9 rangefinders do not have a meter and weigh twice what the GS645S does. I haven't used one, so I don't know if the rangefinder is any easier to use. The Fujica GS645 Professional was released in March 1983 and is a folding rangefinder camera utilizing a bellows for focusing. It has a EBC Fujion S 75mm f/3.4 lens comprised of 5 elements with the closest focus distance at 1m. Aperture stops on the lens include 22, 16, 11, 8, 5.6, 4, and 3.4. The rendering of Leica/Zeiss lenses is different, more subtle, nicer for b&w imo (the Fuji is ok for colour). - Minimum focus (1 m) is too long for a 60mm lens (35mm in 135). - Default orientation is vertical, which I found hard to get used to. There is also a wide angle version with a 45mm fixed lens, the GS645W, and a folder with a 75mm lens, the GS645. I passed on the folder because I hoped that a non-folder would be a bit heartier and I felt that a wider angle lens than the 75mm would be more useful.
